The main materials used for garage door replacement are steel and wood. Overhead doors are compact, smooth and quiet.
Wooden Doors
Wooden garage doors are relatively affordable, beautiful and, for many people, they are the ultimate choice. Cedar is said to be a good wood for garage doors because it has a low wood density and therefore offers exceptional dimensional stability. Of all the main softwoods, cedar has the lowest shrinkage factor. Unlike steel, wooden garage doors will need to be re-finished every few years to keep them in good condition.
