- Preparing for Weather: During the summer months, storms often cause power outages. When power is out, an automatic garage door opener is also affected. Ensure that the opener has a battery backup. So, even during an unexpected outage, you can have peace of mind that your garage door will still open and close reliably.
- Sensitive Technology: You can test the door’s sensitivity by putting a wad of paper towels, or a 2-inch thick piece of wood, in its pathway before you close it. If the door doesn’t reverse automatically and retract to the open position, the opener needs adjusting.
