Mechanism: Design isn’t everything. How your garage door will actually operate is a big decision that often gets overlooked. Make sure to give consideration to how you want the garage door to actually function, based on the size and shape of your garage, the ease of access, and whether or not your garage has low or high ceilings.

Installation: Although many people are taking on more and more DIY projects, it’s good to note that there are major benefits to having the garage door installation performed by a professional. Installers can ensure that the door is the proper fit, is secure in the space, and is functioning properly in all ways. An improperly installed garage door can be dangerous. It is much better to install it correctly the first time than to have to repair it soon after!
